All good things are WILD & FREE

Hoy os quiero mostrar mi nueva camiseta de Forever 21.
Me encantan este tipo de camisetas rollo rocker con diferentes mensajes en ellas.

Y esta que os muestro, con una de mis frases favoritas desde que la vi en un tattoo: "All good things are wild and free".

Os gusta? Tenéis muchas camisetas con mensajes escritos?

Today I would like to show you my new t-shirt from Forever 21.
I love this kind of rock-style t-shirts with some messages on them.

And this one that I'm showing you with one of the sentences that I adore since I saw it on a tattoo: "All good things are wild and free".

Do you like it? Have you got a lot of t-shirts with messages?

T-shirt: Forever 21
Short: Stradivarius (old season)
Ring: H&M
Hat: Vintage

Desk Chair Cover with Lace.

I was asked to cover this desk chair for a girly room.
I had fun making it.

The back of the chair looks so sweet and frilly..

The panel on the front looks like a picture frame.

I used one layer of net under the skirt,
so it puffs out a bit.

I used non-slip on the seat so it stays put.

I hope you have a lovely week.

Today I am joining in with Show and Tell Friday

My work in my hands

..i have a lot of words, but none for a title..

i was reading back through parts of my blog today.  i don't know if i've ever done that before in {wg&l}.  have you ever gone back through your blog or old journals?  it was so interesting and awesome.  i don't know if i just always thought 'a million years from now this will be so great to look back on'...but in reality i started blogging about 2 years ago and there are already milestones & tidbits that i found myself completely pouring over that didn't happen that long ago.  i'm so glad that i have so many memories & moments recorded here.  i forget all too easily.

so that's my encouragement to you today...go back through that tattered journal, click back through your last year of posts online.  how cool to reflect on the season of life God had you in, what you got to be a part of, what you were able to see, do, enjoy, experiece & learn.  if you haven't spent the last few years documenting life now would be a great time to start!

i think i've shared this before here, but i always think of this scripture when i think of looking back:

"When the whole nation had finished crossing the Jordan, the LORD said to Joshua,  “Choose twelve men from among the people, one from each tribe, and tell them to take up twelve stones from the middle of the Jordan from right where the priests stood and to carry them over with you and put them down at the place where you stay tonight.”

So Joshua called together the twelve men he had appointed from the Israelites, one from each tribe, and said to them, “Go over before the ark of the LORD your God into the middle of the Jordan. Each of you is to take up a stone on his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the Israelites, to serve as a sign among you. In the future, when your children ask you, ‘What do these stones mean?’ tell them that the flow of the Jordan was cut off before the ark of the covenant of the LORD. When it crossed the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. These stones are to be a memorial to the people of Israel forever.”

...“In the future when your descendants ask their fathers, ‘What do these stones mean?’ tell them, ‘Israel crossed the Jordan on dry ground.’  For the LORD your God dried up the Jordan before you until you had crossed over. The LORD your God did to the Jordan just what he had done to the Red Sea when he dried it up before us until we had crossed over.  He did this so that all the peoples of the earth might know that the hand of the LORD is powerful and so that you might always fear the LORD your God.”
joshua 4:1-7 & 21-24

take note of what God is doing and where he's moving.  write it down, make a 'memorial' so when your kids/friends/family say 'what do these stones mean?' you can tell them what the Lord has done & who He is.  it will serve to point people to Christ...forever.

so some things that i didn't document yet because i only have words...not images.

life has slowed down a little bit this week.  it is a great feeling.  i feel like i can pursue people again.  and i have time to read.  i love both of those things.

last week ben & i had the opportunity to go on a date.  sometimes we're able to have dinner together but i really was wanting a whole night where we could just hangout and connect again.  i crave that a lot more than him - really good quality time.  so we got to go to dinner & movie.  its kind of our normal date night routine but i really enjoy it.  we went to texas road house which might sound pretty greaseball but we've never had a bad time or bad food so i'm really for it.  we had a surprise 1/2 price app, the nicest server & yummy steak.  we had a gift card but thought it only had a few bucks on it.  it turned out that we only paid $10 on our whole bill & just getting to talk about life was my favorite.  then we went to see harry potter 7.  i was really exited about it coming out.  i'm not sure why i was so expectant but i was.  no we weren't dressed as wizards but it did cross my mind.  a whole evening with my best friend - i'll take it!

the following night we had our annual drive in movie night out in winchester, ky with our lafayette friends.  there was a smaller crowd than we normally have which initially really got me down & none of our other girl leaders were able to come so i just felt kind of alone & discouraged. i was disappointed that this really great opportunity was going to be missed since it just didn't feel like there was much interest kid-wise.  but then i remembered -the 15-20 kids we got to be with were 15-20 more kids than we would have gotten to see otherwise so it was a perfect time for bonding & loving them lavishly.  and it was.  and what did we see?  harry potter 7.  so hp7 x 2 = hp14 & that happened.

this past weekend we traveled up to chicago for a family reunion.  it was a really sweet time to visit everyone.  one of my favorite parts of the weekend aside from the road trips, awesome thunderstorms, trips to the family's d & d itailian deli's {you must go} & madda's breakfast was talking about what God is doing in the lives of people in ben's family.  i hope to dive in to that very soon here on the blog {maybe even with some special guests - fingers crossed}.

and finally, tonight we get to meet our nephew.  ahhhhhh!  i hope we haven't missed too much in his first 2 weeks of life.  i can't wait to hold him.  don't worry, i'll be taking my camera to document all his cuteness, unlike my picturelessness of all the other adventures i just mentioned.

if you're still reading're a saint.  all my love & happy friday.

i'm 98% awkward in this vid. but OMG i am still dying at my own joke. ha ha ha haaaaa "but really i must dash..." get it? get it? mus-tache...hahahhaa

Gother-than-thou is a phrase used to describe an unpleasant attitude that some Goths or "wannabes" have, they act condescending and rude towards others as they consider themselves more gothic than them. Just a stereotype? I would like to say it doesn't exist but it does, it's rare but rather hilarious when you're onto their game. Many act this way because they feel inadequate or perhaps they're just idiots.

But even I've come across as elitist before, I'm not so much snobby about people trying to fit into my subculture as much as I am cautious and I know I'm not the only one. Goths are constantly battling against unrealistic stereotypes and bad press, it really doesn't help when the unknowledgeable attempt to fit in as Goth but only succeed in giving us a bad name. I've realised since that lashing out at them only increases our bad reputation, there's plenty of the gother-than-thou types around but how many stay that way? I've noticed they either leave after getting bored or they grow up.

How dare that gother-than-thou git say I'M not goth enough!
There's never an easy way to say "Excuse you're getting it all wrong and giving us a bad name" so step back and think about, did they really meant to come across as gother-than-thou? If some random person views you as no ~Tr00 Goth~ don't pay attention to them, so what if you're not acting as they see fit? It's absurd to pay attention to these people, despite all the inside jokes there's no such thing as the Ambassador of Gothdom so ignore them if you have a different opinion on the culture or a slightly cliche sock choice.

But those Baby Bats are giving us a bad name...
I also know the temptation to educate someone, hence the creation of this site but sadly some people just aren't interested. Nobody is entitled to bark out orders on how to be a Real Goth (oh I hate that phrase) but I understand everyone is entitled to a good source of information, this is where you come in. Politely offer advise after asking and only offer if accepted, but most people accept anyway even if it is out of confusion. Some may get defensive, it's not nice to be told you're wrong and don't let it turn into an argument just gently give facts. At least you'll know you gave them a choice and they may possibly think about it later, it's their problem now not yours. Please don't get bitchy because that's when you'll risk being labeled gother-than-thou.

last night me, JJ, my friend Angel, and JJ's friend Pharmacist went to the dodger game. OF COURSE we went to little tokoyo for sushi and mochi beforehand. it was fun! except i was SO unlucky...

it's always been a dream of mine to get on the jumbotron. ALWAYS. i just want to be on the screen once in life. it would thrill me beyond belief. and if i got to choose, i would choose the kissing cam. because i think it's adorable. well, last night we got to our seats and there were 4 little shit teenagers in them. instead of making them move, JJ just said we'd sit right behind them. fine. whatever. NO NOT FINE. WANT TO KNOW WHY!?!?! BECAUSE THE CAMERA MAN PUT THE TWO TEENS IN MINE AND JJ'S SEATS ON THE KISSING CAM JUMBOTRON. THAT'S REAL. thunder stolen. dreams crushed. and i waved and waved and said, "hey guy! do me and him! puhleeeeeaseeeee!" and he looked me in the eye and then he walked away. and that was it. those asshole teens who sat in our seats stole my spotlight. MY chance at stardom. MY dream. and on MY birthday week.

i left dodger stadium with a heavy heart last night.

i got a new app on mah phone

my cousins' cousin

so my dad has 2 brothers.  my uncle wayne married my aunt sheri long before i came along.  they have two wonderful daughters that i was blessed to grow up with.  my cousins also have another cousin, my aunt sheri's neice {not related to me}.  her name is natalie and she is on this season of hell's kitchen.  ben & i have been watching it religiously cheering on our non-relative that is related to all our relatives.  she has done an awesome job and this past week it was so fun to see how many people including chef ramsey respected & had confidence in her & her skills.  i hope she wins it all!  she is representing kentucky well.

...get it girl...

okay. so you know how you get friend requests from people from high school or whatever and you just leave them pending in your friend request box?? you're like, ummm i don't like you, we aren't going to be FB friends but i don't want you to keep asking me 3,000 times to be my i will just leave you pending. am i right? (by the WAY, i have to accept every single person from high school. because I AM THE CLASS HISTORIAN OF SHS 2004. that's real. it's MY job to plan the reunion. just please)...

ANYWAY, so the pending friend requests. there's a guy at my work who i thought might be a friendly pal. grounds for a facebook friendship perhaps. well, that's what i thought at least. because i friended him 10 days ago and it still says "pending."

and i ran into him at the office watering hole this morning and i got all awkward. because like, come on. please. i'm just trying to be a nice person here. i just want to be your FB friend. it's not like i want to go shoe shopping with your mother.

needless to say, my ego is a little bit bruised. i want to rescind my request so it can just be over. wahhh.

to cure my FB pending friendship woes, Rah, Sand and i had our first skype book club meeting. the three-way video was a sad, sad clusterfudge---but the conference chat room (with a bud light lime or two) was QUITE successful. we discussed the characters and the symbolism and the (lack of) plot. long-distance book clubs are so much fun. you can chat about the books from the comfort of your own home in your underpants. what could be better??

What's on L's Phone?!

JJ's gangrene leg. bulghhhh. ok. so here's the story: he was playing in a staff baseball game and slid into third wearing shorts. slkadfjlaskjf and got that nasty scrape. well three days later his ankle started swelling badly and it was all hot to the touch. BARF. omg. so we went to urgent care where they said it was infected. of course. so he had to get a tetanus shot and antibiotics and pain medication and then we went to walgreens and spent a solid 50 bones on band-aids, neosporin, gauze, etc. and i have to sponge bathe him. because he can't get his wound wet. it's awkward. i also have to change his dressing daily which is SO GROSS. like, i didn't want to be a nurse...GUESS WHAT? STILL DON'T. basically i'm annoyed. because i'm like HIS servant during MY birthday week. rude.

poor guy. (note that he is wearing his new wedding ring. we both agree that it's even BETTER than his old one. he said, "we should buy one more as a back-up!" no. NO! that defeats the whole purpose of the wedding ring)

awwwwwwwww hansenz. on our way to the anniversary dinner from Heaven.

anniversary dinner :)

sparkle miu mius. i love getting to wear them on july 18 every year.

sneaky anniversary kiss. two years!

AH! uh, apparently i need to dust. because a spider spun a web between my picture frames and the medicine cabinet. haaaaaaahahahaa

this is the logo at our favorite breakfast spot. corky's is what it's called. like, could you have gotten ANY LESS creative. they literally typed in "grandma" and "pie" into clip art in microsoft word 97.

JJ's coffee mug at Corky's. they have an assortment of them. and you never know what you're going to get. always a surprise. it's funny. and watching JJ drink out of a pink flowered mug with "you're very special" in cursiveprinted  on it just makes me want to giggleeeeeeeeee

LOL. Cleo hates being bathed. i feel like she looks really regal here though. like if i made this pic black and white and put it in a frame, i feel like it could be art.

my bday present from Mimi and Papa! a sparkly pink Coach writstlet. essentially me in object form. LOVE IT!

heheheeee Cleo looks so cuteeeee here.

at the park during my lunch break :)

JJ had the day off today. so he, his gangrene leg and Cleo brought sandwiches to Claremont. we sat in the park and ate and then took the pup for a nice little stroll. it was the perfect lunch break. so perfect in fact, that when i had to say goodbye and go back into work, Cleo leapt out the window and jumped into my arms. and then when i gave her back to JJ she cried and cried and cried. so so sad. total separation anxiety. poor sweet thing.

Everything but the kitchen sink....

Today I finished some more cushions, a bit of pink,
green and a lot of lace was the request.

I covered the main green checkered material of the cushion completely..
First I put linen with the letters and stitched pink lace and a velvet ribbon through
lace on top of that.
Behind the big crochet lace I put pink satin ribbon and gathered
cotton lace on one side and two layers of lace on the outside.. and finished it of
with ribbon through lace.
so I put everything on that pillow but the kitchen sink...

I made three cushions and one tissue box.

This is the second time to make this cushion,
but this one is made with cotton and is a bit bigger.

I found this cute romantic dress on sale,  there is no way I'll ever fit in it..
I just loved the colour and all the stitching on it.
I could just hang it somewhere in my bedroom or make a few pillows out of it.

While I was clicking away, I would like to show you
my vintage photo frame, the details are amazing.

Some new lace I bought today in the souq.
The one on the left is the ribbon through lace,
the other one is all cotton, like crochet lace.

Did I mention I bought lots of it..

Here with a ribbon through it.

I hope you have a wonderful week.

Today I am joining in with White Wednesday
on Friday with,
