LAS DALIAS Vintage Market

Hola chicos!

Hi guys!

Today I'm showing you our visit to Las Dalias vintage market of Ibiza. Is on the Santa Eulalia to San Carlos road and it's full of interesting clothes, jewels, handmade pieces and sunglasses from all over the world. Even if you don't buy anything it's so interesting because of the bars, restaurants and good music.

I discovered this little stand of sunglasses and I couldn't resist to buy one. You know as much as I love them! Retro y Vintage BCN has a lot of good brands as Jacques Fath.

I will show you an outfit with my new glasses in the following days!

Many thanks for your comments and your unconditional support!!

Last Days of Summer

Well, autumn is almost here. JP and I went camping with his band No Days over the weekend, and the temperature dropped drastically over the night! We woke up to frost covering everything in the morning. I guess that will be the last camping trip of the summer.

One thing I'm really looking forward to this fall is heading back to school! My school starts a little later into fall, but I think an October start date is perfect. I'm actually so excited to start hitting the books again.

Turquorange

Turquorange: Turquesa + Naranja.

Turquorange: Turquoise + Orange.

I bought this fantastic dress some months ago but I didn't have the occasion to wear it. Finally I wore it the first night in Ibiza.

I really love the color because of the brightness. I combined it with this colored turquoise necklace to give a different touch.

Did you ever try to mix these two colors?

wedding bells & baby smells

so i mentioned that we had our first family outing for matt & holly's wedding rehearsal last weekend.  well, what comes next?  a wedding of course!  benny spent the day at the beautiful bed & breakfast where the reception was held with little emmie.  i was able to feed her in between primping and spending time with the bride & maids.  my mom came in the evening so we could both attend the ceremony & rehearsal.

the entire day was beautiful from start to finish.  usually august in kentucky is the stickiest, hottest mess but on holly's day it was perfect.  75 degrees and sunny.  ptl.  the venues, the details, the vows, the couple - it was just perfect.  how gorgeous is holly? and her dress - obsessed.
the bride & her family were so accommodating; they found ways for emmie to be near & for me to still get to be involved in all the festivities.  they already had plenty on their minds so i consider it extra-special that they would take out time to find a place for us!  it was a little bit challenging for me to juggle feeling like i should take care of emmie and be a supportive friend & they helped to ease that quite a bit.  i knew e.c. was fine, it's not really like a guilty feeling, just more of a wanting to take care of her & know that she's alright.  she had a wonderful day & momma got to have some girl time. i'm so thankful for  that.

once we arrived at the church i realized that i brought my pump but no bottle to pump into [i had left it at the b&b in one of ben's bags].  bummer.  i started to feel anxious, not only am i terrified of leaking all over my silky dress during communion but i also don't want to do anything to hinder milk production.  double bummer.  someone suggests pumping into something else.  i don't know if it will work but i find a dusty bowl in a cabinet, a small piano room down the hall and give it a try.  since i was in a fancy dress there was no choice but to strip down, sit on a bench in my undies, plug into the wall & pump into a bowl.  i felt ridiculous.  but not quite as ridiculous as i felt walking down the hall post-pump with a bowl full of breast milk.  my plan was to sneak on down the hall & get everything cleaned up before i saw anyone.  of course as luck would have it, the two bridesmaids i don't quite know exited our bridal suite just as i passed by.  "are you on your way to feed a cat?" they wonder as they eye my saucer full of milk.
i'm so excited for the websters to start their lives together.  we are so blessed to get to be a part of that, on their wedding day...and ever after.

my favorite part of the day was when matt spoke at the reception.  he thanked everyone for being there and then went on to say that he couldn't let this opportunity go by, with all the most important people in their lives in one place, and not give glory to God and let their guests know how the Lord has changed them.  it was such a sweet & sincere moment.  i knew matt was a great man if holly would choose him but hearing that heart for people & confession of faith just made me so thankful that this will be the man leading one of my favorite friends.  i know God will use their family in mighty ways.

will you marry me?

dress: Wet Seal, shoes: Marshall's

i ate a cheese stick this morning that had an expiration date of may 20. am i going to die?

i feel bad for Gemma during her first feeding of the day before i've put on any deodorant. like, how gross to have your nostrils in such close proximity to a smelly armpit?!

once upon a time, Wet Seal had the most wonderful section of clothes copied straight from the BCBG runway. and it was glorious. this is one of those dresses.

this is also a shot of me after i got too close to that tree which had in it, a dog-eating spider the size of Uranus (not to be confused with your anus) that was literally going to bite my finger off. this photo captures my genuine fear as well as my fat looking arm.

and the most wonderful thing about this dress is that JJ proposed to me in it. (!!!!) in Rovinj, Croatia in June of 2008.

look at his cute fluffy head. and ohhhh that a-line Victoria Beckham haircut. and my tiny boobies. how i miss those tiny boobies!

i wore it like 78 times since it was the only dress in my backpack, so by the time i got home, i was sick to death of it. but this one is not up for discussion. it's being kept. forever and ever and ever because it's special.

hahahhh i'm so annoyed. this is pre-engagement, and i was grumpy because i was starving.

apparently i wasn't too sick of the dress though...because i also wore it to KitKat's bridal shower that i hosted that same summer:

LJ, KitKat, me, Sam. ah, so young.

Two Baby Dresses

It has been a while since I made
frilly dresses, today I finished making
two silk dresses for that special day.

The new lace I bought recently matched
the colours perfectly.

I love this bonnet pattern, I have an other one
that's cute too, I'll make it soon and show you.

This is the cream silk dress,
it has a lace front panel and I covered the sleeves
with lace, how sweet...

Different cream shades and textures...

 Handmade little flowers
in a gathered lace rosette.

A bonnet to match the cream dress.

Cuddle anyone??

I hope you are having a wonderful week.
xoxo
